Conversations Over Tea: Linda Penny
Conversations Over Tea is an ongoing series of interviews between our founder, Rose Goodman, and people who inspire her.
with Linda Penny
Linda Penny is a vibrational healer and teacher. She works across modalities, from kinesiology to reiki, and aims to bring her clients to a place of peace, harmony, and balance.
What’s the common thread in your work?
I look at structural, energetic, emotional, and mental states. Kinesiology, cranial sacral therapy, and quantum jumping all have to do with changing energetic structures.
What’s your role?
I just go with what the body tells me. I really don’t know anything, really. I’m just the facilitator for the energy. And I communicate with the body.
A detective.
Exactly! That’s what I do, I’m a holistic detective.
What inspired you to move into this work?
I had really bad migraines all my life. So that was a gift, because it put me on the searching channel. I was just searching constantly to find a way to heal myself. Most healers that I’ve come across started that way. They were looking for themselves.
Why do you feel it’s important for people to be open to questioning?
Because we’ve all been asleep for so long. We’ve just been hoodwinked, and it’s time people woke up. You have to wake up and trust yourself. One of my sayings is, “Don’t believe everything you think.”
Why not?
99% of what was put in your brain was put there by somebody else—a school, a minister, a book, a friend, a movie…. It was not your own original thought. Your own original thought comes deeper, it comes from in here. And that’s the one you need to get in touch with, so that you can make your own decisions about who you are.
What practices do you recommend for getting in touch with your truth?
Meditation, obviously. Getting rid of the clutter in your life really helps a lot, and getting rid of the influence of other people. And spending time alone is very important. Get to know yourself, and like yourself.
Solitude is huge.
The thing is to step out of that box and be brave. It takes a lot of courage to be real, to really just trust yourself, and to find your own connection to Source, God, whatever you want to call it.
What do you tell people who are in a dark place and want to shift their vibrations quickly?
Mostly the idea is to change your mind. Thoughts create hormones, hormones create chemistry, and chemistry creates the physical body. So when you look at it from that perspective, everything’s about thoughts. So once you let go of those, then you are freer, and your body can free up, and your cells can change.
In Chinese medicine, we say qi follows yi. Qi is energy and yi is the intention or the conscious thought.
Exactly. If you’re a happy person, you’re gonna be healthier than a miserable person.
