Digestion-Boosting Morning Smoothie
I make this smoothie, or some variation of it depending on what I have on hand, most mornings. It’s rich in healthy fats and ingredients like ginger, triphala, and flax that stimulate digestion and promote healthy bacteria in the gut. The lemon adds a ph-balancing element and the dates keep it subtly sweet without resulting in a glycemic spike and sugar crash later in the day.
1 cup organic nut milk or raw coconut water
handful of fresh greens, like spinach or kale
1/2 frozen banana
1 – 2 dates
a squeeze of lemon
ginger to taste
1 tsp triphala
1 tsp flax seeds
Blend and enjoy.
